The rest of the family

...and, I might add, these young adults  play computer/video games at all hours when not earning their livings. (If this isn't true, let it be known that their grandmother has that impression!

Cayenne (on l.) just graduated college. Her brother was also a recent grad, in this photo. And their half brother Michael is on r.

Alice kitty and Michael. He also has two other cats.

I've posted before about the various grand-dogs who live with Cayenne and Will. (Their names are Persephone and Severus.)

Severus is one of those little lap dogs, who runs around in circles to have attention!

Persephone isn't a full size bull dog, but a medium size gal.

Zora lives with my youngest son in CO. They also have a grey tabby cat who uses the toilet rather than a litter box. Youngest son is adapt on Apple computers! Which includes some gaming. His work is with high school students to encourage them to graduate and go to college.

Cody dog...lives in OH.

Marty is my oldest son, and has a great handle on computers. He likes a good video game in his free time!

His wife, Barbara Baker has started her own business, Moonlit Macarons...she bakes them and sells them at area functions.

And I was proud of my daughter-in-law, Michelle, who recently testified for an OH house Criminal Justice Committee considering a bill to provide teachers with guns. Michelle was against it because they would have no training, among other reasons.

Kendra is my daughter-in-law who grows food, among other things! I haven't much contact with her, nor many up-to-date photos! But I don't know if she plays any computer games!

So cool that two daughters-in-law are working in the food industry, and one working against gun violence.

Middle son works as a consultant from his home office. Which usually means he puts in more than 40 hours each week. So he sometimes plays games late at night when the house is quiet.

Here he is with his second daughter, who will be starting college next year. Goodness, she's graduating from High School this year! Yes she's the daughter who is on swim team!

Watching the parades

My very old TV was able to let me enjoy two parades, one of which had two commenters going simultaneously. Thus ABC showed the Asheville Thanksgiving Parade, and NBC and CBS showed the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade in New York City.

But I'll share one at a time...with my most interest in the local one, which I've never seen in person. I also have usually been busy in the kitchen during parade times...but this year I wasn't cooking for anyone but myself.

Of course the local parade didn't have the big bands or balloons of various video characters!

The Jolly Green Giant!

One of the invited high school bands...pretty good too!

At last, a balloon critter I recognized! Snoopy was in some crazy NASA suit though!

And the Asheville parade culminated with Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus, of course!

I'm actually thinking of getting a new TV sometime next year. Just thinking.

I hope everyone else had a good thanksgiving! Mine was quiet and satisfying.

A sepia collection again

Who are these people and what movie are they making?

OK ladies, aren't you glad you didn't have to make your feast this way?

And speaking of ladies...if that door leads to the "ladies room" where is the restaurant? In Breman IN, 1939

I love seeing these cabbies from London back in 1877

Del Rio Texas in 1934

Stage coach in front of the Beaumont Hotel in Ouray Colorado in 1890. I had lunch and met a ride in Ouray CO in 2019, but didn't look for this hotel. Fortunately my ride was a Subaru!

From 1891--1894 The Necheses Belle carried cotton and people up and down the Neches River (in Texas)

Not sure who was steering this contraption! 1886

Real pioneer family moving west...1886 in Nebraska

This strange contraption is a road grader, pulled by 20 mules, north of Taos NM, in 1925...photo by T. Harmon Prescott.  When I drove that area in 2019 there were a lot of rocks and mountains.

And who doesn't remember the tunes of the ice cream man during summer's hot days? Here's a 1946 photo of Doc McGregor with his horse drawn wagon in Corpus Christi, TX.

I'm sharing this collection with Sepia Saturday. Most of the photos have something to do with transportation...or maybe eating after you get somewhere.

The movie was Rear Window, with the director, Alfred Hitchcock talking with Jimmy Stewart and  Grace Kelly, 1954.

The athletes

Caroline in the center lane

Kate about to send the ball across to a teammate in hockey.

Their dad will probably take the lens cap off before he tries to take a photo! He's now got a stationery bike in his basement to keep in shape, and has been doing intermittent fasting...so he no longer has this slightly soft physique.

Their oldest sister now coaches cheering for middle school kids.

I love seeing and hearing about these grandchildren!

It gives me more inspiration to get back into my own stretching and cardio abilities.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope you have a great day full of gratitude!

Of course I miss being with my families...and hope to talk with them by phone sometime during the day!

I was among about a dozen women who were leaning on the handles of their shopping carts at the grocery yesterday around noon. We told the tale, that we'd worked pretty hard to get to this place, and were looking at the finish line. Tomorrow after the feast, while others are watching a game or two, we'll all gladly have our feet up with a nice glass of our favorite drinks.
