The colors of sunset

 

I'm sorry there's no wonderful view in the foreground, just buildings and a little light by the sidewalk.

When the light at sunset turns peach coming in my windows, I step onto the balcony, and stretch around to get as much sky and little buildings as possible!

Some of my Christmas flower bouquet, which seems to be surviving still. Love having pretty flowers around!

Sunset

 

I looked up from what I was doing...and the sky was ablaze! Walked quickly out on the balcony and clicked a few pics with the phone...I'm so glad to see the ridge of the mountains in the distance...but everything was bathed in this rosy light!

Post Script

(This is added after I finished this blog, ready to publish.) Earlier in the day, while fixing breakfast, I had my Omega-3 capsule sitting on the counter, ready to take it before starting my food. I cut up my pear, then spooned 2 kinds of fat-free yogurt in the bowl with the organic pear, heated up a mug of yesterday's coffee and spooned a teaspoon of honey into the mug. Now where was that pill? I looked everywhere. I couldn't find it in the yogurt/pear bowl. And I did the honey last, so I couldn't have taken it with a swig of coffee. Then I looked closer into the mug, and saw a few globs of oil floating on the surface. That had been a clean cup, where did oil come from? Oh no. I must have dropped the capsule into the hot coffee. I was diligent and not wasteful, and tried drinking my fishy coffee for the first half cup. Then my poor coated mouth and tongue couldn't take any more. Threw that out and started with a new mug, coffee and honey!

Twilight - or not really

I've changed my routine a little bit. More things to do inside the house.

I would rather giggle at some of the silly facebook postings...whether cats or dogs or kids, and today it's even owls. That what makes life interesting these days.

The trees are beginning to green up. Dogwoods have started to bloom too. Redbuds may be at their last few days. This is springtime.

Last night I ate a small pizza and salad which I picked up outside my favorite restaurant. I carefully handled everything, then put it in my own dishes, then washed my hands. It was a delightful dinner.

I got a kick out of the waitress bringing my bagged food out to the car wearing plastic gloves, and then taking my money with them on. Well, when I worked food service, I learned you wear the gloves to handle the food, and take them off to handle the dirty money. I hope she's doing the opposite, rather than wearing the same gloves to cut lettuce for salads! Ugh.

A sunset some trees are brightly lit.  I don't really ever see dawn or sunset from inside my cozy apartment. Mmm, maybe I should do a walk at one of those times and see what it's like!

Which one?

Driving home I pulled into a parking lot to capture this vivid sunset on Jan 13, 2020.

But there were signs all over the place...and wires! Where did they come from? They weren't across the highway, but I couldn't very well stop on it!

And it was over before I could find a better place to capture it!

So I offer you a moment in time...with the thought that "if only" I'd been in a better place, and had a bit longer.

But it is what it is. A big front with days of rain and clouds came next.

Looking at the many faces of Mesa Verde

 Closest neighbor has 3 dogs and chickens which I hear in the mornings.

 The backside of Mesa Verde has many faces as the day goes by.

 Then the moon appears after a gorgeous sunset  which I missed, over Sleeping Ute Mountain.

Someone told me later that the planet in conjunction with the moon had been Jupiter.  I've never seen it with my naked eye! (I'm still betting on Mars or Venus.)

Four Corners and the moon

 There was the moon to the south as we drove home back to Colorado...past the Four Corners turnoff. We said we'd not visit it, and just say we didn't. The meeting of the 4 states is commemorated on the ground, and we figured we'd not really enjoy it after dark.
