As I mentioned yesterday, this is Flat Creek flowing by Ole's restaurant and the motel. It then goes under US 70 and behind a U-Hall place, and comes out near the Friends Meeting House.
And now Flat Creek becomes the Swannoa River, after another creek joins it. Then a bit downstream, the northfork creek joins it as well.
I hadn't seen this sign before.
The front entrance to the Friends Meeting House in Black Mountain, NC. The Swannanoa River flows around 3 sides of the property.
Today's quote:
What is wild cannot be bought or sold, borrowed or copied. It is. Unmistakeable, unforgettable, unshamable, elemental as earth and ice, water, fire and air, a quintessence, pure spirit, resolving into no constituents. Don't waste your wildness: it is precious and necessary.
