Horse pastures and the Swannanoa River

To park at the community gardens, you passs the indoor soccer building, and the fire department, then around somone's home and some old trees to park at the top of the horse pastures.

View further down the fence, and a different day as well!

That's I-40 in the distance, but I decided it was getting too windy off the field, so I turned around and went back where I started from rather than walking all the way around the field.

The community gardens are still under wraps, lots of plastic shrouds over the beds.

This view of the Swannanoa River may be completely hidden once the leaves come out.

Quote for today:

"We don't want tradition. We want to live in the present, and the only history that is worth a tinker's dam is the history we make today."
