Update about blogCa

Who knew all this would happen afterwards! Flat Creek in November, 2024. Much changed by the force of the hurricane floods in Sept. 2024. The deck of the bridge is now under that pile of debris.

The wonderful world of Ukuleles

I would love to know why these guys all have earmuffs on. And maybe I should know the young guitarist sitting on the floor in the middle, but I'm not sure.

But my very favorite Ukulele player recorded this, and I'll share it with you. IZ or Israel Kamakawiwo'ole.

The original photo is suggested by Sepia Saturday. Come see what others have thought to share from their own files...

  9. A perfect choice for this weekend's SepiaSat theme. I've always thought Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's rendition of Over the Rainbow is the most beautiful song ever. His voice and ukulele's simple accompaniment carries more emotional musical power than any other version.

  11. Oh for heaven's sake. :) The group I sing with did this version of "Over the Rainbow" for our concert this year - complete with ukuleles! Small world.
