Lammas revisited

Last Sunday afternoon my women's group met to celebrate the first harvest or Lammas.

We each brought something to represent our harvest to give away to each other.

I loved considering the beautiful kernels of wheat.

My basket came home filled with apples, herbs, oranges and flowers!

We had a great little skit performed about Demeter and Persephone...with a humorous twist.

It was so wonderful to sit out under trees with a breeze blowing. Many smiles around the circle. Thanks to our organizing women!

    1. The group meets on the ancient holy days from the Celtic calendar, or the agricultural calendar. It was lots of fun!

  6. What a nice tradition!

I have to admit I read "lamas" at first and was looking for the animals--lol! There is a ranch that raises lamas on the way to my son's home and I always want to stop and pet them as they look so cute.

    1. I used that term, because I can't spell the older name of the Celtic holiday, Lughnesdagh, or something like that!
