Update about blogCa

Who knew all this would happen afterwards! The Flat Creek walkway has clumps of debris still, and lots of sand and rocks on the flats across from the paved walk (which shows no damage from Hurricane Helene.) However as you walk further up the creek, you come to the mobile homes which survived, or didn't, the rising waters.

Hodge Podge and update on exercise

Sometimes I scroll through some saved photos, and scratch my head, when will I ever be able to post these? So here are some of them, without much relation to one another.

Today (Saturday writing this while snowbound) it's cold still here. I've been doing cardio workouts with a video, as well as a strength training video. As well as my physical therapy exercises from last spring...as I have the written pages for the PT.

I woke up this morning with my limbs feeling much more flexible! Wow. My torso is also responding with some muscles working, rather than letting the flab take over. I will keep doing these indoor exercises in the living room! Having immediate (one week) results gives me such a personal boost. I'm also saving the money it would cost to drive to Asheville to the gym. Now I know why people go to closer ones, and if I decide to do that, I'll consider the local YMCA first.

I'm in awe of all that aviation has achieved in the 19th-21st centuries (remember hot air balloons?)

  1. Hello,
It is a good idea to do your exercises at home. Wonderful images and a great quote.
I love the last tree sculpture. Take care, have a wonderful day and a happy week ahead.

    1. With being snowbound for a few days, exercise at home was inevitable. May your next week be just full of great critter photos and good safe travels.

  2. I always do my exercises at home, too. On my walking pad I watch DVDs.

    1. Oh a walking pad is a great description...I think here they're called treadmills. A friend has one, and says she's going to be using it again soon. I just march in place, and hope my downstairs neighbor isn't hearing my thuds.

  3. It's nice to know that you are doing pretty well, and your eclectic photo collection was worth a look. I seem to have run into a dry spell wrt blogging, and that is okay.

    1. Well, it means I have less to read over breakfast. Just think about that!

    1. My cardio rehab at the hospital was a program devised by Dean Ornish MD. They have since stopped doing that intense program, but all who took part in it still have access to the videos, which unfortunately aren't available publically.

  6. Good on you for exercising! And how great to have results in only a week. I love the scuplture of the Earth-Tree!

    1. It just goes to show how little movement I had been doing before starting these little workouts. I finally worked hard enough yesterday to have some sore muscles this morning (Mon.)

  7. I have been doing inside pt for my knee, and started chair yoga from an app last week. Both make me feel better, and help this poor knee move.
