Who knew all this would happen afterwards! I used to write several blogs, but thought just concentrating on one would be easier for me and my readers. Sorry, it ends up having several topics in each post!

A 2019 article about 6 Eco-Friendly Presidents
As reprinted in Tree Hugger newsletter on President's Day, Feb. 21, 2022. You might get a version there that isn't cut off like my attempt at cutting and pasting.
Sorry Tom, something at blogger thought you were spam...which leaves me to believe that there's a nasty force in google which is playing with my blog. Mmmm, no free speech here!
That is a pretty through report. Some of the names surprised me, but I am shocked that the one preceding the current president is not on the list. I hope you had a good day. We had familiy day here in Ontario.
I do hope you don't mean the one who closed down the Environmental Protection Agency and the National Parks...but the one before him might have been included, except maybe the congressional blockages might have lowered any accomplishments he might have wanted. I'll have to check on that.
This is so interesting. I do remember Nixon creating the Environmental Protection Agency, but had forgotten LBJ's good work. Thank you for this posting list.
Yes, people laughed at President Carter for his frugality but they should have listened to him. They also should have listened to Al Gore, who was cheated out of the presidency and might have been able to save our world from the impending climate disaster.
Barbara, Always admired Teddy Roosevelt...a tough guy who cared about the environment, way ahead of his time. As for climate change, to succeed in slowing the process, all major nations need to 'get into the boat'. As for the USA, too many of our citizens just don't care enough to change their behavior...or they can't afford to. Crazy World! Take Care, Big Daddy Dave.
...what, Trump wasn't at the top of the list???

ReplyDeleteI am glad you learned/remembered something. I just wish it had been updated till now.
DeleteInteresting to know, thanks for sharing it. I learned something new and that is always nice.
ReplyDeleteGlad to have helped in your education!
DeleteIt's too bad that subsequent presidents chipped away at the progress made by their predecessors.
ReplyDeleteWell, at least one certainly did.
DeleteForward thinking. It can cross multiple party lines.
ReplyDeleteYou did some interesting research.
