Update about blogCa

Who knew all this would happen afterwards! Flat Creek in November, 2024. Much changed by the force of the hurricane floods in Sept. 2024. The deck of the bridge is now under that pile of debris.

The Bradford Pear is blooming here!

For such a grey day, it was nice having the white blossoms.

I just covered the only plant on my balcony that I hope to not freeze tonight when it goes into the 20s again.
Next morning...it only got to 34 degrees, but oh my it feels really frigid to go out and uncover the little gardenia bush! But oh, just look at the sunshine!

And James Taylor with Yo Yo Ma for Here Comes the Sun.

Or another instrumental version:

  1. Hello,
I love that song, both versions! The Bradford Pear is a lovely tree, my favorite is still the pretty Dogwood blooms.
Take care, have a great day!

  2. A couple of minutes of exposure to the chill seems well worth it to me. The blossom is gorgeous.

    1. It is ok for me to go out as long as I'm bundled up still...and if the sun is out I glory in it.

  5. We have predicted temps for the 60ºs this week starting today. It's glorious.
Bradford pears are pretty to see but I remember in MD they seeded everywhere especially along the highways. They are invasive!

    1. I've heard that too. But interestingly enough, so are dogwood, which are native. But sometimes the pink ones can be found in the woods too!
