Like the first morning...
This morning my second cup of coffee is my last...in my Ron Philbeck mug. Switched to water for the rest of my creative endeavors this morning!
Not sure what this lovely bush is...perhaps a variety of Forsythia?
I'm hoping the chilly air will be warm enough in a couple of hours to go for a walk. I forgot to take the seed potatoes to the community garden yesterday. They are basically just organic russet potatoes where the eyes have sprouted!
Toaster waffles with Earth Balance and good tasting nutritional yeast!
Thank you Cat Stevens...
Hello,
ReplyDeleteThe bush blooming does look like a forsythia. I like the view at your window, pretty orchid. I remember listening to that Cat Steven's song many times. The waffles look yummy! Take care, enjoy your day! Have a great new week!
Hi Eileen, I'm a day late again at replying to comments, sorry about that. Don't know what my attention was grabbed by yesterday...the shape of the bush is not the usual long branches, so I'm going to have to go see it again soon.
Delete...that's not forsythia, but from the picture I'm not sure what it is.
ReplyDeleteWe shall have to go back and take another photo, and then maybe you'll know!
DeleteI'm also a two-mugs-in-the-morning person.
ReplyDeleteAh ha, I knew there was a reason I liked you!
DeleteNice mug with character.
ReplyDeleteRon's pottery often has real characters on it...funny rabbits etc.
DeleteLove hearing Cat Stevens. Nice song for the morning!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed it as well as some of his lesser known songs.
DeleteHi Barbara
ReplyDeleteI have the "Tea For The Tillerman" album by Cat Stevens--one of my all time favorites! I think that may be a "beginning to bud" forsythia--did you know that that is the official flower of Brooklyn, NY? They grew wild in many places, but not usually until April or may depending on the weather.
I had that album back when they were on tapes! Didn't know Brooklyn had an official flower...nor that they were indigenous!
DeleteLove that song! I think of it often this time of year. The bush might be spicewood--if the blossoms stay tiny. Break a twig and it smells spicy--the old folks would chew on a twig and use it as a toothbrush.
ReplyDeleteOK, will try to see if I can break a twig, when no gardeners are looking. Great to know it's a toothbrush in a pinch!
DeleteIt's been years since I last had waffles.
ReplyDeleteWe used to have a Wafflehouse here in Black Mountain when I moved here, but it's gone and even the building torn down. And it's been even longer since I last had a Belgium Waffle iron. So pop a frozen thing in the toaster is a new way to have them...oh I forgot one of my favorite restaurants here makes a blueberry waffle that's very good.
DeleteThere isn't much spring in my yard yet, just a few daffodils. But any day now it will burst forth!
ReplyDeleteGood to hear spring is slowly coming your way too!
