===========

Smoke continues, so I wear my N-95 mask when going out. It's no fun having my windows with curtains and blinds down...but by evening, I start to cough without that precaution, just sitting near the windows. Fires continue in the mountains within a few miles, and we're sure hoping for rain soon.  Forecast for tomorrow now (originally said Monday.) I'll take it, any time possible. Poor fire fighters from all over have been working so hard.

  1. I love the cat catching a ride there. I expect it's very warm, too.

    1. And he looks pretty dry, so somehow he hopped onto the goose and is happily riding around. Or it's AI and we've all been fooled!

    1. Thanks...staying inside though I wanted to go to a nursery and pick up some spring plants. Should go earlier rather than later, but the sky is so grey with smoke, I am probably not going at all! Can't work on my porch even, today! Yes, Carol Long gets my vote any day!

  3. Hello, Barb
    Wonderful critter post, I love all the images. The saying abut serenity when listening to birds singing, is right on! I would love to see those bears fighting. The llama photo is great. The Mandarin duck is lovely. The giraffe by Carol Long is awesome. Thank you for linking up and sharing your critter and post. Take care, have a great day and happy weekend. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.

  4. I love the word, seatherny, but spellcheck sure doesn’t, and although I like it, there is little chance that I will remember it. Dang it.

    1. This tree is in the parking lot of the swim pool and Lake Tomahawk park. I tried two shots, and only one came out in focus.

  6. Just saw this and thought of you. I don't think you are very far away although I guess Vicki is closer. I sent it to her too.

    "Did you know that there is an American Museum of the House Cat in Sylva, North Carolina? I discovered it when Facebook foisted a short video on me. Here’s where Sylva is, and it’s not far from Asheville (birthplace and burial site of Thomas Wolfe) or Pigeon Forge (home of “Dollywood”)."

  10. I hope the wildfires will end soon00I heard that rain should come that way with a storm passing through this weekend. We had a bad wildfire a few miles from where we live last summer and it was amazing to see how fire fightimg is a scinece and the serveral "hot shot" fire fighters who came form all over to help put it out.

  11. Wearing a mask is a good plan, Barbara, hopefully the area will get some rain. We have had a weekend of rain and wish that I could send some your way.
