Myself (lowest) and my granddaughter (l.) and her mother. Granddaughter just graduated from college! She is my oldest son's daughter. We visited with masks, except to eat...it was so nice to see their smiles!A hug between my middle son and his mother-in-law. I have long wished there were a good term for a couple of mothers of married couples...rather than mothers-in-law in common! I feel very lucky that my son's mothers-in-laws are such wonderful women.
There used to be a train that went up to Mt. Michell...the highest peak east of the Mississippi. Now you can drive almost to the top, park your car and then walk an incline the last couple hundred feet.
Sharing with Sepia Saturday, of course. Can't let these old photos go by without sharing them there!

Hello,
ReplyDeleteGreat photos and memories. I like the shot of you, your granddaughter and her mother. Your son is handsome
Take care, enjoy your day! Have a happy weekend!
Thanks Eileen. So glad that you stop by frequently. Have a great weekend yourself!
Delete...it's great to be able to be together with family.
ReplyDeleteThey were over in Gatlinburg TN, and saw how close I was, so came this way on their way home to Tampa FL. So glad to see them!
DeleteIt is good that you're able to get together with family.
ReplyDeleteAnd that was in winter=time, aka see those warm duds.
DeleteCongrats to granddaughter.
ReplyDeleteShe is indeed very smart and beautiful too!
DeleteLovely photos of your family. What a nice celebration for your grand-daughter's graduation.
ReplyDeleteIt was a bit early. she graduated this year though!
DeleteI love your family photos and the old photo with the women spinning, etc. The photo with three generations of women is probably my favorite. Susan
ReplyDeleteMy older daughter has a very nice mother-in-law also. Perhaps second mother would be a good term?
ReplyDeleteOr bonus mother?
ReplyDeleteNice to see the old photo of the women spinning and knitting - but the best was the three generation photo that includes you and all of your smiling faces.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your family get together. We are all doing reunions these days after our long year of isolation! Love the vintage photos as well. The knitting, carding and spinning appeals to the crafts-person in me -- and that train photo at the end is just great. I sometimes wish some of those old train lines still operated to out of the way places.
ReplyDeleteHappy smiles should be the theme for this summer. Last week I saw my son and daughter-in-law (another awkward term, maybe just newdaughter) for the first time in 18 months. Far too long and every smile was beyond price.
ReplyDeleteOhhh - that picture of Lake Tamahawk looks sooo inviting to me sitting here in 100+ degree temps! Ugh. A lovely stroll along that lakeside path would be just the ticket, I think. (sigh) Other than that, a nice post of various family pix. You have a good-lookin' middle son, there! ;)
ReplyDeleteThe train ride must have been fun.
