At Mellie Mac's Nursery

I would have bought one of these ornamental leaves Geraniums...but the check out line was too long.

Hanging planters were everywhere!

It was the 10th anniversary sale...in her new location which is many times bigger than the old!

I got a kick out of all these hens and chickens plants

There were also some little repotting plants waiting to go home with folks. I just walked back to my car, having enjoyed a bit of the bright sunny morning. Unfortunately all that bright noonday sun gave me a migraine.

Today's quote:

A plant is a weed only within a certain context; one person's weed is another person's wildflower.

  1. ...when I was in the nursery business I quickly learned that "color sells!" Yep, weeds and wildflowers are a matter of a point of view.

    1. That's absolutely true. I love purple petunias...but my hanging planter of them doesn't catch the eye like last year's geraniums. Oh well. I still love 'em.

  2. Hello,
So many beautiful plants and flowers. We saw a long check-out line in the Lowes garden section. I think the warm weather has everyone out working in their gardens. My hubby loves the "weed wildflowers", he mows around them. Have a happy day and a great weekend!

    1. Thanks...my migraines are usually over in an hour, and I just have to stay out of bright light during that time. I am glad I spent a half hour in that pretty nursery.

  5. I would have been sorely tempted despite long check out line. I was just thinking of hens and chicks today. I may have just the spot for them but don't know if NH is too cold. There are still plants coming up that I wonder about: weeds or perennials? One of them put out some flower buds so I think its coming from a bulb. It has that look to it.

    1. I remember cutting down some "weeds" that were falling all over my sidewalk, only to be told by the landlord later that those had been peonies...oops!
