Way down upon the Swannanoa River

Ice and snow melt, as well as springs in the mountains, feed the Swannanoa River.

There are some new sandy banks here by the river. Someone probably trucked in a few loads to add some height here where the bench can be found.

This nice area is next to one of the paths in our recreation area of Veterans park, a greenway and community gardens.

Today's quote:
I believe at our best America is a beacon for the globe. And we lead not by the example of our power, but by the power of our example. -Joe Biden, 46th President of the United States

  1. ...this looks like a river that is prone to flooding. Fabulous quote!

  2. Can't even see any ground here. We are getting more snow now as I write - another 3 inches at least. I'm enjoying the snow after being snow starved in Maryland for many years.

  4. I hope Joe is right. Too many crazies still mouthing off and making the rest of us look like idiots.

    1. Fortunately I find mainly the crazies still look like idiots, and many are staying sane in their presence.

    1. I didn't sit that day...perhaps a bit too chilly. It will be pretty to see as greenery returns to the woods.

    1. Thanks...I love seeing the snow on the mountains, and it looks like more is coming tomorrow night. Yes, I like walking around water...better than walking in a mall, shudder.

    1. I haven't had the snow walks that I do have good snow weather clothing left over from living in New England...or maybe replicas from more recent purchases on line. I would love to walk in snow. Lots of our snow gets rained on as it leaves, which just leaves a muddy mess.
