Red sky in the morning...

 sailor take warning.

This was dawn on the 13th of Joyous...aka January.

The white reflections are from my blinds which I just opened to the early morning light a bit after 7.

Red sky at night, sailor's delight.

We had clouds and dampness all day Thurs. There's due to be rain/sleet/snow in the mountains to the west of us, along the Tennessee/North Carolina border. That's sooner than our snow will come. We're being forecast 6-8 inches on Sunday.

But the weatherman has consistently over-forecast for the last I-don't-know-how-long. So I'll be happy with 2 inches, and hope someone plows or scatters sand/salt so I can drive around and take pictures. No matter how much, I now live on a steep hill, so I have more trouble getting out to drive on the better-travelled streets. We shall see...

You know I'll share.

ADDENDUM Tues morning...just a bit of color around a snowy peak!

Sharing with Tuesday's Treasures, though they have the wrong email somehow! I couldn't correct it either.

Not thinking critically, I assumed that the "successful" prayers were proof that God answers prayer while the failures were proof that there was something wrong with me.

  1. Are there many sailors on the N Carolina/Tennessee border? If so they need to check their sextants.
It's always shepherd's delight/warning around here and it sort of makes meteorological sense here. Our weather comes predominantly from the west so a red sky at night means it's clear in that direction so good weather is usually on the way. A clear sky in the east and a red sunrise doesn't really mean much at all but it completes the rhyme.

  2. Hello,
What a beautiful sky, great capture. Even a small amount of snow can be slick, icy. I hope they can clear and salt your area. Take care, have a happy day!

  4. You have warned the sailors of your area.

  5. We have snow here on the ground now and supposedly more to come at the weekend. I hope that's not the case! I feel safer driving on the stuff than walking in it after breaking one wrist on snow in 5th grade and the other on ice a few years ago!

  6. Gorgeous sky, although not sure of the implications. :) We just said good-bye to the snow and, pretty as it was, most were delighted to see it go.

  7. Beautiful skies there, Barbara.

  8. Beautiful sky! I'm hoping we got our snow in December and can be done with it. We have tons of hills here and not much snow equipment. We usually don't need it!

  11. Barbara, Well, we got our snow the day before yesterday, probably about when you got yours... About 2 inches here, more than we want, that's for sure. Avoiding too much snow is one reason we moved to East Tennessee. Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
