Going up the side of this cliff to a gap between all those rocks, was the winding entrance to the park.
Court House Rock was our first pull-off to see.
Court House Rock on the right, with Three Gossips showing their heads to the left.
A sign describes a fallen arch, between Sheep Rock on the right and Baby Arch on the left.
There were many features of rocks and quite a few arches.
Incidentally, we saw this (my first!) arch on the way, in Monticello UT. If you look closely you'll see a person standing under the arch!

Very sensible to have ticketed access...and a stunningly beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteThat arch must have been spectacular when it finally collapsed
They may have limited how many could come in at each hour, but by 2 o'clock there were quite a few cars...and in order to go slow and see everything, we pulled over at each site to let the cars behind us go around so they could hurry if they wished. Yes, that arch that fell many years ago would have been across the road, so we'd have had a different path if it were still there.
DeleteOne of my favorite parks, love the views and arches! Take care, enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteIt was certainly one of my favorite parks as well.
DeleteRed Red Country is so wonderful to see. I am glad that I saw some of it once upon a time in Arizona.
ReplyDeleteDid you go to the Grand Canyon? I think of it as perhaps the most awesome park with nature preserved. But this was the most beautiful one in my opinion.
Delete...a BIG WOW!

ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to see those sights for real. I've seen many photos, would love to explore the reality. The Three Gossips have exactly the right name!

ReplyDeleteThis looks like such a fun day! I visited Arches National Park years ago, but I've been wanting to take my kids there someday soon. The arches are incredible structures! Thanks so much for sharing!
