Looking east on State St. in Black Mountain.
In downtown Black Mountain, I found another dogwood.
Outside my living room window are a couple of dogwood trees, barely visible on Friday April 4. It was in the 80s the day I took this photo.
A few days later, the temperature is forecast to be 31 at night. So all the little plants on the balcony and porch have been brought inside to have steady temperature and just a bit of sun and water (a friend has volunteered to come over once while I'm gone to visit my son and wife for about a week.)
Today's quote:
When we stop worrying about unimportant matters, we can devote so much more of ourselves to what is truly important.
...always stop to enjoy the flowers.
ReplyDeleteI think that's probably why they bloom in the spring...when we are so excited to have warmer weather, and to get busy with doing outside things like planting new plants where and when. A few flowers/blossoms catch our attention and we just have to stop!
DeleteThe redbuds are looking beautiful. Ours is just starting to bloom.
ReplyDeleteTake care, enjoy your day and have a great week!
These grey woods are slowly turning different shades of red, pink and white, with a few greens as well. Such a wonderful thing to see each day!
DeleteIt's especially nice to see the blossoms by the tracks.
ReplyDeleteThese trees have received absolutely no care, and so a few have been lost. But the remaining ones are so beautful!
DeleteGorgeous redbuds. We don't have those. I wish we did!
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize Redbuds were American. How about dogwoods? I know they are wild and indigenous, but they've been propagated by nurseries for years
DeleteWhat beauty surrounds you!
ReplyDeleteI like today's quote.
Have a great time visiting your son!
I'm really looking forward to this visit. Now I just need to deal with the journey itself...which I'm not looking forward to.
DeleteThe blossoming tree by the tracks is so pretty to see. Great quote for today, I like it.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bill. Have a great evening, see ya tomorrow!
