Melli Mac's blooms

Melli Mac's Garden Shack is a local Black Mountain nursery. I stopped in last Saturday to pick up a couple of posies to have on my porch before my apartment inspection on Mon. this week. They won't be looking for flowers of course, but to see if I keep the stove and refrigerator clean and working. Ha ha, I'll surprise them. Well, other tenants are also putting a few blooms outside so I have a couple.

I enjoyed snapping photos of a few things I saw.

Just look at all those dogwood blossoms!

A sweet redbud by the ramp into the office building.

And for once the camera caught the closest flowers rather than the background!

Sharing with Floral Friday Fotos.

Today's quote:

A decent provision for the poor is the true test of civilization.

  2. Nice to get a dose of flowers at a garden shop. Out the window this morning I can see a bit of haze of red on the maple trees.

    1. Yes, that hazy red is on some of ours also. And there's one dropping lots of little blobs of red stuff on the sidewalk and my front porch too...which is fun on my shoes each time I come home.

    1. That's the color most of ours are...except a few red dogwoods.

    1. They are native in the woods here, but not as easy to spot as I hoped. There's one outside my living room window, and one that I'll share soon from the Dogwood Apartments down the road from me.

  6. You are several weeks ahead of me in the flowers department. What beautiful colors. Flowers give me a sense of hope. And I am in love with the name Mellie Mae. I might need a new scarecrow to name.

  8. Hi Barbara, My better half is already working at making everything beautiful. Planning plant purchases...herbs, flowers and possibly a new bush. Our redbuds are fantastic and now that the dogwoods have popped out, the best of the best are those locations where the redbuds and the dogwoods are in flower next to each other. Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
