Yesterday when I opened the windows at 6:30 am to the cooler air (70 degrees) I heard and saw two Canada geese flying from east to west. Probably just going out for breakfast, as Lake Tomahawk is east of me, where most of the geese congregate daily.

Lovely Black mountain pictures. And you are so photogenic, never take a bad photo, to this day.
ReplyDeleteOh I love digital photos...take a half dozen and toss those with eyes half closed, or something else wrong! Thanks for thinking it is just me myself! I do love Black Mountain and the area here.
DeleteNo, I meant you can't take a bad photo meaning you look lovely in photos!
Delete...I wish your water, always in the right amount.
ReplyDeleteI get a kick out of people blaming politicians for the floods...hey, mother nature has a lot to do with it. Ours was not due to clear cutting, nor dams, nor levies, nor canals...etc. It just plain is raining a lot!!
DeleteSpeaking of water we had quite a downpour or three yesterday, but they didn’t last too long. And we had a weather change last night. It got cool and windy. It’s 50F now but will heat up a lot by afternoon.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness. 50 F is such a nice sounding number! Most of our thunder storms dash a bit down, and cool us off maybe 5 degrees for a while. This morning I had to drive through fog, just because all these trees and valleys make it damp by themselves.
DeleteGreat collection of photos. I like the views of the rock wall and flowers, the pretty sky and lake views. Great photo of you and Doug. Take care, have a great day and a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks Eileen...glad to know what your preferences are. I'm glad that I save some of the old photos taken through the years. Probably many more from the more recent years, actually!
DeleteGreat shots.
ReplyDeleteBlogger is playing games with my replies...so we'll see if this one goes through! Glad to have you visit!
DeleteYes, a wonderful sky... I enjoyed reading, too.
ReplyDeleteOur skies are often quite pretty...with the Carolina blue very evident most of the time.
DeleteI really love old photos. You live in a beautiful area.
ReplyDeleteI'm quite happy to have all these pretty things around, which enables me to take lots of photos! The older ones I collect from the internet, or might have been there myself sometimes.
DeleteYou are lucky to have such a beautiful lake nearby. Thanks for the very fitting Gandhi quote.
ReplyDeleteLake Tomahawk is a great place to unwind, look at birds, geese and kids...oh and dogs.
DeleteI always enjoy your pictures of Tomahawk Lake. I envy you the walk around it. All my life I've lived near water of one kind or another. Growing up it was the San Francisco Bay mostly, although when I worked in Oakland I spent lunch hours sitting by Lake Merritt. When I married we lived by the ocean for a while, then the Smith River. Moving to Oakhurst we enjoyed Bass Lake. In Groveland we lived in the subdivision of Pine Mountain Lake with a lake. In Soulsbyville there was Willow Springs Pond to walk around with all the ducks & geese to watch. Now we live in a 55+ subdivision in Sonora with a swimming pool. Not quite the same, but it will do. :) I do envy you Tomahawk Lake, though. Your pictures always make it look so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI've also lived near water most of my life...St. Louis had the Mississippi, and later St. Augustine had the Atlantic, then Tampa etc. It's fun living in mountains now though.
DeleteNorth Carolina is a beautiful state. Thanks for sharing Tomahawk Lake with us today. Marvelous images. You are photogenic.
ReplyDeleteMore beautiful photographs of Lake Tomahawk. Like you I love being near water. I was born in the seaside resort of Blackpool in north west England and I now live in the Scottish Borders, known for its many rivers. And Snap - I too was on “The Constitution “ in Boston in 1965 on my very first weekend in the city before I started my new exchange post in Cambridge,Mass. The start of a wonderful year I had in the USA!
ReplyDeleteNice lake views, I like them. The old photo of you and Doug is beautiful, I like your big smile.
ReplyDeleteI love the old photo of Black Mountain.
