From different parts of the world

My son traveled to Denmark to find this little friend.

Clay figures in a museum - Denmark

Another son took a trip to the Caribbean and saw this critter.

Dr. Jane Goodall, who I just learned, has prosopagnosia, which makes it difficult to recognize familiar faces.
In January 2025, Dr. Goodall was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom. You can imagine which President awarded it to her.

Today's quote:

Everything turns in circles and spirals with the cosmic heart until infinity. Everything has a vibration that spirals inward or outward — and everything turns together in the same direction at the same time. This vibration keeps going: it becomes born and expands or closes and destructs — only to repeat the cycle again in opposite current.

Like a lotus, it opens or closes, dies and is born again. Such is also the story of the sun and moon, of me and you. Nothing truly dies. All energy simply transforms.

  1. Love those clay figures!

I have Navigator stones from Aotearoa New Zealand...mine have been made by a potter. Others were made from stone. On one side the inward spiral is the female, the planning. On the other side , complementing the first is the outward spiral, the male, the voyage.
My personal one I carry with me as travelers always have. I'm sure that it has drawn me back many times. Another I was given for my workshop.

    1. I've never heard of Navigator stones, but they do sound wonderful! Especially for travelers. Perhaps I should have one, with all my roaming about the earth! Great reminder of the movements of opposites.

    1. I saw a blue darter the other day, but wasn't able to follow it to catch it's photo.

  3. Clay figures have their own presence, as if they were waiting in the clay.

  4. Hello,
Your sons are doing some traveling, Denmark and the Caribbean. I love the dragonfly, the clay critters and the birds both the real birds and the ceramic sculptures. Sad new about the health of Jane Goodall, she is one of my female heroes. Thanks so much for linking up and sharing your critter post! Take care, have a great weekend. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.

  5. I forgot to say I'm glad I have something in common with Jane goodall. She also taught me to conserve water with her documentary about how much of women's lives it can consume, just carrying it for daily use.
