Boycotts anyone?

 Current Events:

I was aware of Feb 28 being a total economic blackout...not to purchase anything anywhere....but this gives more specific dates to focus on certain retailers.

The list of corporations which support the 2025 dictates

    1. I used to think my miniscule amount of purchases wouldn't matter, but now my thought is, just telling 10 people about a boycott may make several hundred dollars worth of difference.

  2. Hello,
I am happy to stay home and not buy anything on the 28th. Hopefully taking our dog to the vet does not count. Hopefully these corporations will feel some pain from the boycott.
Take care, have a great day and happy week ahead.

    1. That's great to hear...I just feel sorry for my friends who own local businesses. I wish they would just close on Friday.

  3. It's a great symbol of resistance and a good starting point for people who haven't done any resistance yet! Maybe they'll continue once they realize we're unstoppable.

    1. Very astute reasoning there! Thanks for mentioning how the wave of actions can build.

  4. Up here, we'll be boycotting American companies. If we shop at all, we will also try to avoid Am products in Cdn stores. I'll also be staying off FB and Tw that day.

  5. our boycott is not a boycott , as we are not consumers of any of that list. I will boycott Amazon, have already dumped evil facebook,, Etsy, and I may torch the tesla of my husband's doing...POS

    1. That's great, boycotting all purchases on Feb 28...not just these companies. But it's apparently ok to purchase with cash from local businesses. I still look at FB, ugh! To do without it for a day would be a challenge!

  6. Hi Barbara, This is an interesting way to draw attention to and protest the policy changes many major and lesser companies have made that are in line with current 'popular' politics. Will it work? Will it have any effect? Time will tell. But, in order to have impact, more publicity is needed. We watch NewsNation for unbiased news and even they haven't mentioned it. Certainly the mainstream media has ignored it. Probably sensitive even for NN as many of these companies advertise on the channel. A Canadian boycott of American products would be popular in Canada as our arrogant administration has really aggravated Canadian citizens, including some of my friends and relatives. Unfortunately, Americans may avoid Canadian vacations due to the vitriol unleashed against the USA. Take Care, Big Daddy Dave

    1. Yes, mainstream media only reports what's already happened, not a plan of those of us who are resisting the current firing of US civil servants to have totally unqualified heads placed on cabinet departments. And everyone is unhappy about the grocery prices. Our mainstream media has covered many of the protests that occurred on President's day. The list of corporations supporting Project 2025 is a suggestion for where we put our dollars. They are within everyone's power to choose what businesses we support.

    1. Here's hoping your election goes the way you've voted! A little wine (not imported from the US of course) sounds good, either way.

  8. Supporting the boycott will be easy enough. Today I canceled my Prime subscription and have moved my online buying to ebay, which, as far as I can find, did not contribute to Trump. Not shopping at Walmart in my area is a challenge since they are pretty much the only game in town for a lot of things. I go there as little as possible but sometimes there is no alternative.

    1. Oh yes, as much as I wish to avoid W-mart, it's sometimes the only option. Same with Amazon. I receive gift cards from the kids, and just purchased some new sneakers from their Christmas. We can resist in other ways, if we so choose.
