The Blue Ridge Parkway was a most enjoyable ride.
And these are the rest of my photos from that day trip!
Somewhat out of order (yay, blogger!) this was coming down from Mt. Mitchell.
---------------
And from last year...
Black Mountain citizens gathered Oct. 29, 2024 for a candle light vigil to remember all that has been lost from the storm damage, (Hurricane Helene on Sept. 27, 2024).
Beautiful views from the parkway! Take care, have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThanks...hope your Thursday is also filled with beauty and love.
Delete...Barbara, gorgeous pictures of God's Country. If you r pictures don't load in the order that you want, highlight the picture, cut and paste into the desireded position.
ReplyDeleteThat happens when I take the time to cut and paste. Often I haven't figured it quite out...since trees, roads, rocks all get muddled up in the sequences.
DeleteYour pics look like here a few weeks ago. We even have highlands deep in the hinterland although we don’t often get there any more.
ReplyDeleteLoved thinking of "highlands deep in the hinterland" of Canada. I'm glad someone put together the National Park of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Just a place to enjoy nature.
DeleteBreathtaking..well worth the trip.
ReplyDeleteHow is the restoration going after Helène ?
Sadly pretty slow for homes to be repaired due to funds getting held up by politicians. But at least most of the debris was removed before springtime...though some is still in the distant areas...piles of trees and brush that the forces of nature pushed around. The landslides that show that wind/rain energies won't be recovered anytime soon.
DeleteThat's one of the best parkways we have. Beautiful, thanks for the ride.
ReplyDeleteIt's great to live close to enjoy this parkway. I used to take advantage of it more. Maybe I'll take my folding chair up to an overlook again soon.
