The first day of fall 2025 arrives with the fall equinox on Monday, September 22, 2025, 2:19 p.m.
I'm assuming the time is Eastern Daylight Savings Time. And that gives me time to post something this morning before the event actually occurs!
This is a great time of the year to take a moment to reflect on balance in your life:
between work and leisure
between doing and resting
between the slow needs of the body and these fast and demanding times
between different phases of your life
between birth and death
between any aspects of your life that feel in opposition

I am now quite cured of seeking pleasure in society, be it country or town. A sensible man ought to find sufficient company in himself.

Sending peace and joy for Mabon Seek balance.
ReplyDeleteThanks and happy mabon to you as well!
DeletePS Lovely header!
ReplyDeleteI love all your photos, the colorful trees are beautiful. Happy Fall to you! Take care, have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteI recognized the bridge at grandfather mountain on your post today!
Delete...and a happy fall to you, Barbara.
ReplyDeleteAll good wishes for many days of great photos!
DeleteAs long as the world doesn’t tilt too badly during this change. 😜🤓
ReplyDeleteWoof woof, from an old dog who learned new tricks!
DeleteOne balance I'm learning is not to stress when I get the equinox a day ahead! I found it on a site which assured me it was yesterday! Out of step again. No, it's everyone else!
ReplyDeleteCalendars just usually have the same date each year, which confuses everyone. I just changed my water filter for one that lasts 6 months, and that's going to be another equinox, easy to remember!
DeleteThe older I get, the more I agree with Ms. Bronte.
ReplyDeleteToo bad she still used masculine pronouns for herself!
DeleteWishing you peace and balance at this autumn equinox. I just adore those red trees. You have so many more of them over there than we do here. It's one of the few things I envy you Americans for!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your good wishes. You all are having color changes earlier than ours, though maybe this is a bit of a dry fall this year.
DeleteHi Barbara, Some very nice fall photos combined with a bit of philosophy... It's been pretty warm for this time of the year. My better half is in cooler climes...with her sisters driving around Scotland. Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
ReplyDeleteYour lucky wife and sisters-in-law! Hope they have a good time, and I hope you are enjoying being the bachelor!
DeleteHappy Fall, enjoy the new season. Barbara.
ReplyDeleteHave a good change of seasons yourself.
DeleteBalance is a good thing to aspire to.
