The iPhone says this is a Brown Thrasher. The house behind it was across the street quite a way away, but dear old phone focused more on it.

One local luncheon restaurant now has glass glasses for our water with lemon (lemon is a habit I started over 10 years ago...whenever we no longer received a glass of water without having to order it.)
My sistahs, Helen (in red) and Teresa took me for a birthday lunch as one of our favorite restaurants, the Veranda.
Though their soup and sandwiches are sooo good, I always want to take home a piece of carrot cake (whatever I don't eat while sitting there!)
And another favorite restaurant here in Black Mountain, is Ole's Guacamole...where they use plastic glasses for water. But they also have a salsa bar with everything imaginable.

As we learn to have compassion for ourselves, the circle of compassion for others – what and whom we can work with, and how – becomes wider. |
