In 1963 I flew with Pan Am on the Boeing 707 and DC 8. Those jet airplanes were the change that made air travel more available, faster, and maybe more profitable. But alas, so many airlines went under within a few decades, and I don't remember why.
View of Craggy Gardens from visitor's center on Blue Ridge Parkway, 2013.
The Craggy Gardens picnic area has been inaccessible following the storms of Sept. 27, 2024. This shows how steep the grounds are, which go up behind me as well.
Sharing with Sepia Saturday and Saturday's Critters. What critters, you may ask?
Found on Facebook this week...
Hope you are well!
ReplyDeleteDoing ok, so far. Fixed breakfast, taking shower which has been sorely missed, with lots of little wipes-type washings. Taking it easy, very easy!
DeleteYou Gogh Girl!🤠Toes crossed you are at home, safe and sound!
ReplyDeleteYou never missed a blogging beat.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you're back! Getting home makes a person feel better, also showering. Those wipes just don't do it!
ReplyDeleteGood to 'see you' back ~ Lots of healing energy to you ~ be well ~

Hello,
ReplyDeleteThat is a cute cat carrier! I am glad you are home, hubby always felt better at home and showering. Thank you for linking up and sharing your critter post. Take good care of yourself, have a great weekend. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.
Hooray you’re home! Hope no extra bugs latched on while you were in hospital. (Marcia from my iPad suffering from an intestinal bug that granddaughter brought to me on Thursday and it showed up today.)
ReplyDeleteNeat Craggy Gardens view, great Gogh jokes, & I love the cat in the sling or whatever those things are called. :))
ReplyDeleteGlad you are home!! Take it easy!
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling "ok"(-ish). My first experience of flying was in 1967 (I was 11 going on 12), to Spain, with my parents and brother. My dad was going there for some work conference but managed to combine it with a holiday week. We also flew to England twice in the early 1970s, and in the late 70s I flew up to the north of Sweden on my own. Since then - nearly 50 years! - I've not been up in the air at all!
