Americans thinking about global warming

From Yale's Climate Communications, What do Americans think is the Biggest threat from Global warming?

62% of those surveyed (n=1,037) answered the open ended question, which researchers gathered into these categories. For more on what each one really signifies, go to the original article.

They then break it down between the political parties...with no surprise there. Democrats are concerned, more Republicans either deny it or think weather change isn't related.

I really appreciate that they describe their methods. The scientific methods need to be known by all of us.

Hope you all have a great weekend. We're due for rain on Friday (when you're reading this) so I put all the outside plants out to get some last good watering.

And for a smile:

  1. All the categories seem relevant and important. The Halloween image is cute. Take care, have a great day and a happy weekend!

    1. I'm glad to be a member of a Climate Conversation group...which doesn't do things like the Yale group at all. We just bought a sort of bulk purchase of produce from the local Food Co-Op.

    1. I agree, many are completely focused on survival issues. Unfortunately many more are brain-washed by the media that's available.

  3. Hi Barbara, The big problem is that 17% of the respondents 'don't know', 'oppose action' or feel the its 'not a threat'. Add that number to those who didn't bother to respond...(Tom's comment about how many 'American's think' fits this group). Then we have 55% who ignore the issue, are too wrapped up in day to day challenges, aren't really aware of the risk or just think that's someone else's problem. Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
