Update about blogCa

I-40 picked up the old Rte. 66 somewhere along the way, maybe Little Rock, maybe Oklahoma City. But it is the 100th anniversary of Rte 66 so I enjoyed thinking about my parents driving on part Of it in. St. Louis at least. Here we continued from Santa Rosita to Gallup NM, then left both highways to go north to CO.

Our lawmakers have a goddess looking over their work

Hail Columbia...aka the goddess standing on top of our capitol building in DC...

The dome is topped with a 20-foot statue of a woman holding a sword and a laurel wreath, known as Freedom Triumphant in War and Peace, or sometimes, Armed Freedom.

    1. They know of Greek and Roman mythology. It's part of the architecture, like Corinthian columns rather than Ionic or Doric columns.

    1. Doesn't matter...I figure her being there is chaneling the mythical vibes of freedom to each one of them. That's the new-agey answer. The other is that is a lot of weight, as well as an iron dome...of course it attracts various magnetic energies from the atmosphere!

    1. Thanks Robin. I've been proud to call her Columbia for years...though Freedom isn't all that bad a name!

Thanks for commenting! I tried moderating, thinking that would be a quicker way to check on comments, but actually it takes more time. So go ahead and talk amongst yourselves, and I'll check in when I can!!
