Another enjoyable lunch

My friend Cathy met me for lunch for a late birthday...and gifted me this gorgeous huge gardenia bush. It's full of buds! Can't wait till they blossom!

Today's quote:

It is far too easy to discourage, all too easy to criticize, to complain, to rebuke. Let us try instead to see even a small amount of good in a person and concentrate on that. Let us be quicker to praise than to find fault. Let us be quicker to thank others than to complain.

  1. Hello Barbara,
The gift of the Gardenia bush is wonderful. Lunch with a friend is a good time! Great quote, if only everyone could just be nice, there is good in everyone. Take care, enjoy your day!

    1. I'm glorying in the gardenias. Took everything down while Ida's rains (and maybe winds) came through. But not that bad for us as others.

  2. We have plans for a patio breakfast later this morning.

  3. There is very little to compare with the fragrance of a gardenia--lucky you!

    1. I am the happy owner of 2 gardenia bushes...and need to go buy a big planter for the new one, and more dirt, so it can overwinter indoors.

  4. That bush will fill your apartment with such a nice scent. I see you're masked. Masks requirement in effect again around here for indoor spaces. It's a must.

    1. It's still out on the porch now...and I delight in going out (unmasked) and smelling the blooms. But if I go around others, the mask is in place!

  6. That's a beautiful bush. Gardenias smell so wonderful. I'm back to eating outside when I do go out. Unfortunately, the weather is changing.

    1. I agree, outdoors for the next couple of months (here) wearing sweaters and coats. As long as I can hold my fork, I'm ok. But maybe only once a week!

    1. Me too, and being outside without mask was still a gamble of sorts!
