Another sunset with moon and Jupiter

Grand-dog Zora on the front porch...

While son does some serious scrolling on his phone...

Looking at the many faces of Mesa Verde

Closest neighbor has 3 dogs and chickens which I hear in the mornings.

The backside of Mesa Verde has many faces as the day goes by.

Then the moon appears after a gorgeous sunset  which I missed, over Sleeping Ute Mountain.

Someone told me later that the planet in conjunction with the moon had been Jupiter.  I've never seen it with my naked eye! (I'm still betting on Mars or Venus.)

Four Corners and the moon

There was the moon to the south as we drove home back to Colorado...past the Four Corners turnoff. We said we'd not visit it, and just say we didn't. The meeting of the 4 states is commemorated on the ground, and we figured we'd not really enjoy it after dark.

The Cortez Airport

At about the same time, several small planes landed in Cortez.

 There's the airport...about a mile away.

I guess I just wasn't sitting on the patio most afternoons when they landed.  The little tip of mountain that sticks up above the trees represents the "toes of Sleeping Ute" mountain.

Some old wheels and wagons

Taking a break from my Southwestern vacation...let's go back a few years.

Another fun sharing with Sepia Saturday.  Wheels and wagons are what struck my attention...

A fun shot of another wagon, this time a Ford, with a camper and canoe included!

And yes, I've shared this before...one of my uncles (or my father) taking a photo of the tire changing, while someone else (it would be just like my mother) is taking a photo of the whole thing.

I've long enjoyed the beauty of GypsyVardo Wagons...and here's one that seems related to railway travel.

Another beautiful and practical way to live and travel.

I do feel that these people led a hard life, what with moving about a lot, and having to prepare meals (I do take the view of the women of course) and clean-up with campfires (if it wasn't raining!)

And here two young brothers, my Uncle Chauncey was driving the auto while my father made a face in his funny hat back when they were just boys!

That's all folks.

Finally Monument Valley

A panorama before the sun set...

Sorry about dirty windshield!

A bit better with a rolled down window...

Don't bother taking any more photos through that windshield!

Just look at those strata!

A nice panorama where we pulled off the road.

My son and myself in a selfie...

My favorite panorama!

Waiting for sunset...but also taking some shots while standing around.

We watched the shadows lengthen...

That shadow is from the large mesa behind us.

The side of the large mesa, taken by focusing in the shadow.

And yes, there are a few sunset photos, but there weren't any clouds to make them very dramatic!
