Tree buying fun

My family is getting used to my being a recorder of events with photos and blogs.

It was so cold everyone agreed on the second tree they considered. I didn't vote, and nobody asked my opinion!

Not their choice, but the multicolored lights reminded me of my childhood trees.

Yes, you read that right, reduced to $799.99! Photo is free!

That's 25% off, not 25 cents!

More on tree trimming later...

    1. Yes indeed! And at least we had pretty lights. Our grandparents probably had candles!

    1. Thanks Eileen! I had fun taking photos of the pretty things...not tempted at all, except I'd like a Christmas cactus. So that's about all that's on my wish list. A very little one.

  4. That is an impressive Christmas store. Sue trends to be the recorder for our fam but I do like to chip in my fair share. 😀

    1. It sure is impressive. There were sample size free coffees, but the gals that tried them said they were "awful." Glad I skipped that.

    1. It was great to window-shop - after all the expense of the tree - not buying anything together but looking and smiling!

  6. When I was young tree lots would spring up unconnected to any kind of store or plant nursery. My father and us kids would go to pick out the tree making the poor attendant unwrap and shake out tree after tree before we picked.

    1. In the past there have been boy scouts and church empty lots with trees. This outfit sure does it up big!

  7. We used to get a tree from a local farm where they grew. And Mr Simonson the owner, would throw in a free sack of seed potatoes -- that was his other farm. Trees were a dollar a foot. Yes, this is a while back.

    1. I started having live trees maybe 30 years ago… even a ficus would do.

    1. I wouldn’t have gone there on my own. I don’t think I’ve ever gone to a Christmas store.

    1. I certainly was overwhelmed…but the girls had been there before, and wanted to show me lots of stuff, plus I got lost once or twice!

  11. Only artificial trees allowed in my building, but it's a moot point for me, as I don't mark the occasion.
