First job is to fit the saucer onto the trunk. Then carry it inside. My son got those jobs.
The "before photo."
Making sure it's standing securely, then cutting the webbing off.And it begins to fluff back to it's original shape.
A broken branch will go home with grandmama'. I don't decorate.
Michelle begins to water the tree...it just soaked up the first 2 pitchers of water immediately!
Russ tests the lights, and rewires those that no longer work. Seriously, he's an expert electrician among his many talents.
The "after photo" which is as much as I got to see before leaving Sunday morning. Two daughters were still home and probably helped put baubles on before they left. One daughter had to catch a plane around 6 am...and her parents took her to the airport early then came home for a nap before the rest of the family woke up.
New header photo (for those who look with phones):
Wishing all a happy holiday!

Today's goddess:

I always enjoy decorating our tree. My family is not as excited by it as I am.
ReplyDeleteMany years of fond memories...now I don't bother to decorate, except perhaps to string some fairy lights around the windows, and a wreathe on the door.
DeleteSo, others came form a distance too.
ReplyDeleteYes, one granddaughter is in her senior year of college in Washington DC.
DeleteI truly wish I could recover at least a little bit of the joy of decorating for Christmas but it seems to grow ever more unlikely. Your son and his family have done a very fine job.
ReplyDeleteI stopped decorating, mainly because it was just for myself, and I had other things I’d rather be doing!
DeleteThose tree photos are enticing...and exhausting- There will not be a tree here this year, boughs only! Loads of fairy lights becazuse they do make sense in this darkness! I keep them up all year round! It sounds as though you are getting around better than ever! That is great news. Stay well- you are treasured!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind and encouraging words. Maybe tomorrow with bad weather I’ll pull out the tub of my remaining decorations
Delete...I've always hated to put the tree in the stand. We finally we finally broke down and bought an artificial tree, I thought that would never happen!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, I’ve seen some lovely artificial trees. They don’t offer the evergreen scent however!
DeleteEveryone is starting early this year, and I actually don’t mind. I think we all need a little cheering up.
ReplyDeleteThat’s definitely a plus of making more beauty in our environments!
DeleteI don't have a tree up yet . . . My grandkids always decorated it for me. That didn't happen last year. I may have to resort to bribes this year.
ReplyDeleteHa ha ha, bribing grands to decorate does sound funny. But I hope they chip in and help.
DeleteA lot of work, doing that.
