Today is brought to you by the letter "P"

Today is brought to you by the letter “P”. The ladies and I went on a picnic. Then went for pie at Pisgah Inn on the Parkway!

#PicnicPiePisgahInnParkway

Picnicking in rockers at the Pisgah Inn. I'm in grey hat, and the man in the distance wasn't part of our group.

Teresa and Helen are looking at the view. The cut in the trees shows where the Blue Ridge Parkway travels in the background.

Then desert and coffee in the dining room!

Blueberry cobbler a la mode

Peanut-butter pie

French Silk Pie

And the last "P" was that this special desert date was my thank you treat to my friends who'd helped me so much when I had pneumonia earlier this month!

    1. My friends went to exercise class yesterday, just to balance things off. I'm still walking with a cane for stability, so balancing is just being able to walk, and breathe!

  4. My daughter Jessie took us up there a few years ago! Truly a marvelous view. We had a picnic but no pie. What was wrong with us?

    1. Well pie and coffee aren’t a daily treat - so the sweetness is both the enjoyment and the memories. We make!

    1. Yes, the Parkway continues through Virginia to the Smoky Mountain National Park. The Pisgah Inn restaurant is only open in season, and reservations are needed. It's pricey but a nice homey atmosphere and delicious foods. I'm a sucker for the French Silk Pie, which I cannot make myself.

  6. What a lovely outing complete with treats. I drove that road long ago, what views. It's a lovely part of the country. We almost lived there but husband had job choices and he chose another.
