Ah the drugs...
Steroids continue for a few more days, which means while I'm resting I think of all the really important things I should do. I'm terribly creative. Not quite to wash the windows...but definitely want to get rid of some of the old furniture which is past it's prime.
However, it's the old bod which limits what I can actually accomplish.
I fixed a real dinner last night (first one since coming home.) It meant washing and cutting up the potatoes and boiling them. Then frying the Gardien vegetarian chicken pieces, and adding a Mandarin sauce (thankfully from a pouch.) I then skipped making the salad or green veggies, because I'd been standing at the stove turning those darn fake chicken pieces for 10 minutes already.
There isn't a clean pot in the house (since some had already been used and not cleaned when I got sick.)
I did one sink-full of dishes before all that. Then had to sit down and watch a Miss Marple movie.
Last morning at hospital I watched this woman (I'm guessing she was female) do some dancing with mowing...perhaps she was talking on her phone, or just having fun. Of course you have to imagine it.
Hope is not a wish but an intention. |

Saving ones brain for constructive matters sounds a good idea. Today, my radio is off and I'm scrolling past things....
ReplyDeleteOne step at a time...xx
I have all the great newsletters, and I just delete them without reading these days. I did see on Facebook a lot of people in Great Britain demonstrated this weekend. I hope it is effective!
DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI am sure the person mowing was having fun dancing. I like the peace, love , joy image and the quote on hope. I hope you are feeling better! Take care, enjoy your day and the week ahead..
Happy Monday to you Eileen! Each day is such a gift in my life. I am very grateful,.
Delete...I'm trying to learn to be happy with what I can and not to be sad about what I can no longer do.
ReplyDeleteI’m waiting for wisdom. Until then, I’ll just keep on reading blogs and books and enjoying my friends as much as I can.!
DeleteLike the sign says, peace, and love to you this morning.
ReplyDeleteI will definitely take that and share it!
DeleteI stopped listening to regular news programs years ago. I have a few news letters that arrive every morning. I find that I know what is happening in the world without being inundated with trivia and strident voices. I think it's the voices delivering news that are the most invasive.
ReplyDeleteThe silence of the woods is a lovely thing.
Thank you for reminding me of the silence of the woods! Yes, The voices of commentators are pushing anxiety!
DeleteYou're doing well, with the cooking good food. I hear you on being tired with standing. But you're pacing yourself -- maybe no choice! I certainly see the urge to get stuff out of the place that's served its purpose.
ReplyDeleteAnother balancing act – being very hungry from steroids, and not being very active due to breathing difficulties. So I’m going to be considering ways to do as much as I can, without pushing too much.
DeleteIf there is a Meals on Wheels in your community, reach out to them. I volunteer at one in Florida and we often deliver meals temporarily to people recuperating from surgery or illness.

Our Council On Aging has lunches boxed up for us at our senior center. I hope to go pick up my lunch today. That’s a good idea to see about meals on wheels as well..
DeleteYes! Get help with whatever meals you can! Prepackaged food may not be the best but it can definitely be a blessing sometimes. Can you get delivery where you are on the mountain?
ReplyDeleteI just contacted Meals on Wheels, and asked for some help. Thanks for all these good ideas. My friend Helen is going to pick up my lunch today...as I just don't think I can walk from the parking lot all the way to the pick-up place at the senior center. Whew, every little bit helps!
DeleteDancing with a lawn mower takes dancing with the broom to a new tech level! Cumbersome partner! I used to watch Molly's Polka Party on FARM Tv. it was hilarious and somewhat charming. The old farmers driving their wives around the floor like tractors. Some of them entirely out of gas.
ReplyDeletePleased that you are doing better!! Keep doing that. We want to LIVE until we die, BOOM, just like *snap* that!
A friend always said she danced when doing her chores. I never quite got into that! But doing some yoga stretches was fine for me! Laughing out loud as I imagine the farming dancers. Yes to life! We used to be considered (after 60?) that our main task was to get ready to die (according to old psychology text books). Ha ha. We sure have lots more important things on our minds! Laughing, loving, sharing, grieving, exploring, savoring, etc!
DeleteThe British demos over the weekend were rabid right-wingers, nationalists, anti-immigration. There was a small counter-protest. But it seems where the USA goes we shortly follow, which is very worrying.
ReplyDeleteOh dear, I didn't look further and missed knowing what it was all about. So sad to hear you all are going the same stupid direction as the US!
DeleteGood that you are starting to get back where you left off. Meals on Wheels is great, I used to volunteer there when I lived in Maine, lots of nice people there. Have a nice and peaceful day.
ReplyDeleteI have friends who have also volunteered to deliver food for Meals on Wheels. I don't know if they deliver here though.
DeleteMiss Marple is a good antidote to almost anything.
ReplyDeleteI sit down and rest and then I feel like I can get up and do all kinds of things, but as soon as I start moving around, I realize that I’m in danger of falling. It’s very frustrating,
