The ERA gives a great umbrella which might just affect the Supremes ongoing denial of women's reproductive rights. If the Senate hadn't voted against ratifying it, thanks to Repulsive-cans.

That's how many advisers for the FDA voted unanimously Wednesday in support of an over-the-counter birth-control pill, saying the benefits outweigh the risks. The FDA doesn't have to follow its advisers' advice, but it often does. If approved, it will be the first birth-control pill available over the counter in the US. The FDA is expected to make a decision on the matter this summer. |
Frustrating that some are hellbent on dragging society into the backwardness and damn the consequences.
ReplyDeleteOur NC governor just vetoed a bill making abortions illegal before 12 weeks gestation...and it now (May 16 evening) goes back to a legislature which has one woman who was a Democrat and switched to be a Republican, thus giving the GOP a super majority which can override a veto, if all the Republicans vote to do so.
Delete...human rights are still wobbling.
ReplyDeleteThat's true as well. Yet here we are, the humans who make rights legal or illegal!
DeleteThat wwould be a good step by the FDA. At least I tend to think so.
ReplyDeleteI agree. And it is in the works at this time.
DeleteIt truly is shocking. All those crazy theories, like pre-birth abortions! As if. Lies and religious fundamentalists...
ReplyDeleteThere should never have been any laws that regulated what Doctors and patients decided in medical privacy.
DeleteBarbara, We do have a long way to go for women to have truly equal rights in the USA. The only positive is that it could be worse and definitely is in some parts of the world. If my family had its way, women would definitely be on an even playing...and medical...field. Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
