What with the disease that's killing the dogwoods, I was glad about half of this tree still bloomed this year....same tree that's been in the header for about a month!
Today's quote:
There is within each of us a modulation, an inner exaltation, which lifts us above the buffetings with which events assail us. Likewise, it lifts us above dependence upon the gifts of events for our joy.
ALBERT SCHWEITZER
My pink dogwood in front of my suburban house is doing fine, but it's the only one in the neighborhood, so maybe the disease won't be transmitted for a while.
ReplyDeleteI hope that is true, and may your enjoy your pink dogwood for many more springs!
DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI love the dogwood, they are one of my favorite trees in the spring time. Beautiful blossoms.
Take care, have a happy day!
I hadn't seen a pink one before moving to North Carolina...just the wild white ones in the woods all over the south.
Delete...the buds on our pink dogwood have opened and now this morning it is snowing.
ReplyDeletePerhaps they will survive, I hope so.
DeleteThat's pretty!
ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeleteIt, like us, survives for another day or year or whatever.
ReplyDeleteI don't know where Tom lives but it is cold and snowing here too.
Oh dear, you folks all across the north-east, and as far south as St. Louis. We shall have a freeze tonight, but no snow at lease.
DeletePink dogwoods are lovely sight to see.
ReplyDeleteThey do brighten up the area, after so many months of greyness!
DeleteThe dogwoods are blooming here too. I think of you whenever I see a tree full of blossoms!
ReplyDeleteAwe, thanks. I'm so happy to see them...so now I'll think of you too!
DeleteThat's a perfect quote for life during a pandemic.
ReplyDeleteYes, or just any life any time.
DeleteSuch joy in those blossoms!
ReplyDeleteOh my...joy in blossoms!
DeleteA pretty tree when it blooms.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad there are spring flowers here.
DeleteWe have two pink dogwoods. We planted four of them about eight years ago, but two died.
