No Kings Day - Durango Co

My son protested in nearby Cortez CO. He said it was a good feeling to be with others sharing their minds...and only a few anti-protesters went by. Lots of cars honked in approval.

A sign which didn't keep him from getting elected!

(Note, posted on Wednesday before!) I'd love to go to this...maybe when parking is easy and it's  not too hot and not a huge crowd. OK, probably won't go.

Something I saved from Facebook!

Something else I saved from Facebook. Not going to do it, but it sure looks easy!

I used to love this glaze...don't have any pieces (wait, one bowl) of it. It no longer does that fun splotching when white glaze is put on over glossy green...thin layers of course. That was because some chemicals were either not available any more, or cost too much, so the studio changed recipes of the glazes.

Yesterday I got a zoom pass (from the library system free) to the Asheville Art Museum. Lots of photos coming soon! I was so exhausted I fell asleep when I got home at 5ish. Ate a bowl of mashed potatoes. Ate a warmed up half a brownie with butter pecan ice cream on it. Being all grown up means I can do these things!

    1. I have noticed my landscape crews have disappeared, just 2 white guys left toting around mulch and spreading it finally (it's been in piles for 2 weeks now.) None of the Hispanic crew are out there. Are they hiding from ICE, I wonder? Or the heat?

  2. That dinner reminded me of a friend who ordered lunch and asked for dessert to come first. She explained to me "I'm a grownup. I'm allowed!" Go you! Our local art museum was rebuilt and closed for years. I don't think it's open yet. It was a favorite Sunday afternoon expedition.

    1. Our museum has recently (in the last year or so) been rebuilt. It's stunning now! And the cafe had a side salad which was delightful for just $3. My cheese sandwich was just $7. Pretty good fare too!

  4. We’re having a hot one here, so it will be a very low key day, actually one of a few.

    1. Yes, we're also thinking of where we can visit that's inside these days.

  5. Be Happy On Purpose!!!! I'm trying. So hot - walking outside is like being wrapped in a hot, heavy blanket.

    1. Our maintenance guy is now starting work at 7:30...a very good idea as afternoons are simply terrible outside.
