Flowers at Art in Bloom 2025, Center for the Arts, Black Mountain NC
As you can see, the paintings are already in existence, and the floral artists then make an arrangement to reflect the mood, design, colors, etc with flowers.

I had a great tech support person with Apple, who walked me through how to load photos from the iCloud into my blog. It may become easier. For now I have to go through each step carefully!
Here are some old photos that somehow do exist in the PC, and can be loaded "in my Apple computer."
I've got a neurological appointment. They finally called today (last Wednesday) and gave me a February 23 appointment. Ha ha ha. We talked about how their office is way north of Asheville while I live east of Asheville. And we talked about the date. No list of cancelations to be called. So people apparently call them every day to see if there's a cancelation. Right. At least I got the 2:50 pm appointment rather than the 8:20 am one!
People with memory difficulties, with fingers that won't behave because of tremors. Every day. Oh, they said, go back to your provider and ask them to send you to another clinic. I made the mistake of telling them the first one wouldn't take Medicare any more...I hope these folks still do, and that I live so long!
Joy of joys...some photos (tiny files) dragged through on the PC via emails.Today's quote:
That's a looong time to wait for an appointment like that. Hope you'll find other ways of coping while waiting... ♥
ReplyDeleteIt's been fun getting friends to write forms out for me, and sometimes with two hands to hold the pen still I can make some legible marks. My hand doesn't tremble when I hold it out, which is a plus I guess...just the finger controls.
DeleteAre neurologists so scarce there in Asheville Metro Area or are there lots of folks with neurological issues? February? Really?
ReplyDeleteGood question...but as I mentioned, one that was recommended said they no longer take medicare. So that means a lot of elders who don't have private insurance don't get treatment there.
DeleteIt seems there are long waiting times for all doctors.
ReplyDeleteI hope your medicine helps you.
Love the flower art and your plants.
Pretty photo of your friend.
Take care, have a wonderful week!
I laughed that my general practitioner never seems to have other patients when I see him...and I get in pretty quickly. Maybe I'm his only patient! Then there was last summer when he took off for 6 months, and there were 3 new PA's keeping the practice going. Specialists are definitely harder to get in to see them.
DeleteFor a specialist appointment, that doesn’t seem exceptionally long. My specialist guy took 8+ months to see me, and then almost another 6 months to get around to the surgery. On the other hand, we do tend to expect things to move faster down there under the private system.
ReplyDeleteI noticed at the top of my form that I'm worth over a thousand dollars in collections from Medicare. Maybe that's why my GP sees me quickly. The specialists that I've already seen will work me in, if I have a major problem. But a new doc is apparently different. And as usual, most of them say my memory problems are just "aging."
DeleteI guess things are different in RI. My referrals constantly call. But I am fortunate in that most of my problems are mostly at the nuisance stage. Just need to schedule a follow up colonoscopy.....had to skip the last one due to hip surgery.
ReplyDeleteMy aloes are insane. Love that quote from Margaret Mead
...I love the apple poster!
ReplyDeleteIt is interesting, and many apples are grown in this area.
DeleteSmall blessings? Mercies? That's a long time to wait for a neuro appointment. Around here we have a lot of doctors, area is a doc magnet, so we get in fast. I hope your new med is helpful anyway
ReplyDeleteYesterday I took it along with everything else, and it didn't seem as bothersome that way. My blood pressure change and heart rate are expected. How they will affect my finger tremors I don't yet know. I'm on day 4 now.
DeleteFEBRUARY!!!! Holy cow! I think I might get a lift to the nearest or farthest walk -in clinic or go to a medical school and demand! That is ridiculous! Go visit Boud and have her hook you up with doctors. Crazy health system= non heath non system there in NC.
ReplyDeleteThe flowers are creatively delicious.
The turtle jewelry is adorable! What a pretty friend!
ReplyDeleteFebruary 2026???? That is outrageous. And I would never remember - memory issues or not.
I love the flower/art combos. Hoping you luck into a cancellation.
ReplyDeleteI love the inspired pairing of flowers and art. What talent folks have. Hope your new meds are helpful and without side effects, as that's a long time to wait for an appointment.
ReplyDeleteA friend of mine is suffering from trembling hands and it is painful to watch its impact on him. I hope that your situation can be improved.
