I love honey, and have tremendous gratitude for the bees' work.
From the internet
My apartment has a huge built-in shelf...here my youngest son is opening a gift when he visited a few years ago. I have about 3 times that much pottery on several other shelves, as well as tubs of it wrapped up and stored.

Arrival in Plymouth Rock, September 1620
Somebody in our family tree might have been on the Mayflower. But just look at how few were alive by Thanksgiving 1621! I do wonder how they made it through that first Massachusetts winter!
And closer to home, I did talk with my friend who I'd been feeling bad toward (hurt, angry) and our talk brought us to a place of understanding where each of us had come from, so we're going forward as we are. Neither of us can approach the friendship much differently, so it's going to continue limping along.
And I had the annual physical with my doctor, with no big changes. Still a bit of wheezing in my lungs, and he thinks many of the changes I've experienced lately are due to the strong course of antibiotics. Will check in with him again in 4 weeks. At least all the blood work numbers were within normal range.

A yellow tea set with blue interiors - the woman who bought it said it reminded her of Giverny France, where Monet's kitchen was in these colors.

...I'm not a tea guy, but I love the tea set!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you like it...and I wonder if you can put other things to drink from a teapot!
DeleteThat's a first for me -- a different color inside. Cool! I'm a honey fan, too, always thank the bees when I eat it.
ReplyDeleteAre the bees simply wonderful to share that golden honey with us!
DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteLovely photos of your grandchildren and your sons. The tea set is pretty. I love honey too, I use buckwheat honey as a sweetener in my coffee. Take care, have a great day!
I don't think I've ever had buckwheat honey. What does it taste like? I didn't know buckwheat even had pollen, actually.
DeleteLovely tea set. I have been lucky enough to be in Monet's kitchen twice and I love the yellow - it makes me feel happy! JanF
ReplyDeleteThat's so wonderful that you visited the Monet home. I love seeing photos of it...including one of him standing in the dining room!
DeleteLovely to see your family photos - and yes, I wonder if those Rogers on the Mayflower were your forebears. Shocking to see how many died, it must have been a tremendously hard life.
ReplyDeleteI posted it because of all those who died that first year...but don't think that Joseph Rogers was directly an ancestor. My ex-husband's family has a link to someone that did arrive in America on the Mayflower.
DeleteSue’s ancestor came over very early, but not on the Mayflower.
ReplyDeleteBOSS looks very colourful.
Yes it does, you have the good eye for details! I wonder if these colors represent anything.
DeleteBees work hard and are so important. Have a great day today!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you agree with me as to bees' importance to food industries.
DeleteI prefer using honey vs sugar whenever possible, Barbara, and agree on the importance of bees and beekeepers. Thanks for sharing the photos of your family nice to "met" everyone. The yellow tea set is lovely.
ReplyDeleteYay for honey, and dare I mention, raw kind. The way I learned about it was when I had bad allergies, with stuffed up nose all the time. Someone said if you use wild flower honey that hasn't been pasturized, you'll be getting a bit of the pollen from when the bees collected it, and it might help reduce your reactions to different flowers' pollen. Maybe it worked, cause I'm still doing it!
DeleteNo wonder bees are busy, there is so much to do for the earth. Nice tea set, I love the colours too.
ReplyDeleteThat's absolutely right, much to do for the earth. I saw a friend for tea this afternoon, just one mug for each of us, so no teapot. Goodness, I could have used one, and it just didn't occur to me! Anyway, we spoke of how important it is to talk about climate change, and share all the good things happening. I gave her names of two of my favorite newsletters, Americans of Conscience, and Katharine Hayhoe.
DeleteHi Barbara, Nice looking family photos! As for family making funny faces, one branch of my family (a mother and daughter) like to pose with their tongue sticking out to the side. One time I made a weird and crazy face and sent it to my son and grandsons. They didn't recognize me and asked who it was... Love that yellow tea set! Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
ReplyDeleteYou are now going to have to start making silly faces with all your family so they know what you look like as Big Daddy Silly Dave! But be careful, mothers everywhere say "your face might freeze like that!"
DeleteWhat a beautiful family!!!
ReplyDeleteI love sharing their photos with my friends.
DeleteI love your family photos. The girls look so lovely in their gowns. Thank goodness the pendulum is swinging back to elegant dresses!
ReplyDeleteThe teaset is stunning! Great colors.
They are all wearing very short white dresses under their gowns for graduation. Since they may be sitting outside in the sun, it's a good idea.
DeleteHow good that you and your friend could talk! Not easy these days.
ReplyDeleteIt was difficult to do on the phone, but that was her choice. Cleared the air a bit anyway. And my doc said my tearfulness might also be a side effect of the antibiotic. Sure glad I'm done with it now!
DeleteThe Mayflower graphics are enlightening. Life was hard.
