But no, I can let the rest of humanity have their sunburns, sandy toes, and damp bathing suits. I am happy enough with drinking lots of water. That's become my connection with all the earth's many-times-recycled waters. You can remind me I said this today if I ever complain about the dryness of Colorado!
I do prefer the smaller ones to the great big grandmother size pancakes.
A view of the cooking layout for my new apartment in Durango. It's not much different than the one I now have, though a bit older and smaller. Which actually is close to describing myself, except I'm not much smaller!

Reminder: Drop over to see Art in Bloom - Alchemy of Clay blog which has some photos each day for this year's display of art with floral arrangements at the Black Mountain Center for the Arts

Blueberries in yogurt is my recent, almost daily, lunchtime dessert. It’s both tasty and healthy. My last blueberries were from Morocco since recent choices were either there or American, and I am boycotting American as much as possible. In another month or so, wild blueberries will be on sale on some rural roads near here. I kinda luv blueberry pie, almost as much as apple.
ReplyDeleteFresh blueberries are great. Good to know you're helping the economy of the fascists! The only drawback to blueberries is to make sure one's teeth don't carry bits forward with a smile.
DeleteI mean not helping the economy of the fascists, of course. Being facetious!
DeleteI found out the hard way that you don't blend blueberries with the batter! Edible but purple pancakes. Purple Pancakes sounds like a boy band
ReplyDeleteHa ha...I've been there and done that definitely. Wonder what kind of music that boy band would play! Perhaps they'd also dye their hair purple!
DeleteMy pancakes are about the same size as yours so...not all grandmothers! About to go to pottery where I will think of you, as always.
ReplyDeleteI dropped off the rest of my potting supplies yesterday at the studio. Since I was double parked I didn't stay to catch up with an old friend. Just left the big box of batts and tools on the table and said I hoped they would be useful. Sigh. I spent 12 years working there with many different other students...and only 2 of my old friends were there yesterday. There is so much letting go for me these days. Enjoy your pottery! It's therapeutic, whether you want it to be or not!!
DeleteDo go to the beach, just one more time. You may regret not going.
ReplyDeleteHere it's the time of year when I can pick bluebreiies for breakfast, provided I get there before the birds do.
Good thinking, but I am not really interested in a day at the beach now. How wonderful that you get fresh picked blueberries!
DeleteI love blueberries and have them each morning in my cereal. I lived most of my life near the water so I would miss it terribly if it wasn't close by.
ReplyDeleteI grew up near the Mississippi River, then raised my family in Florida where beaches are never far away. But I've also really enjoyed mountains. I think this adventure to learn to appreciate the desert is just the next thing for me to try.
Delete...your move takes you quite a ways from the beach.
ReplyDeleteTrue enough, but I don't feel any need to be near a beach any more. The joys I look forward to are breathing deeply nice clean dry air. The desert better not have too much dust blowing around or I'll hide indoors.
DeleteI miss the beach, sitting in the shade and watching and listening to the waves. But it's a long way to drive so I'll just enjoy my memories.
ReplyDeleteYour pink bouquet is wonderful!!!! And the pancakes look delicious!
ReplyDeleteYou must have mixed emotions about moving. I am sure it'll work out.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to a beach in ages!
Of course, we've geese at ours these days.
DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI like blueberries in my pancakes too, yum! I would be excited about the move, sounds awesome!
Take care, have a great day!
