Yes, art is still flowing through my veins, as I appreciated the creations of other artists recently.
The Black Mountain Center for the Arts had it's 25th anniversary recently.
My friend Helen saw the exhibit in the gallery and urged me to see it, so we dropped by the week that the show was to close.
I immediately recognized this Libba Tracey ceramic sculpture. Her style of birds and putting them on wheels!----------------
I'm cutting out a few of the art pieces here, but they are on the longer post over on my art blog "Alchemy of Clay."
Helen and the swan. We saw all the writing on the feathers, but weren't quite sure if there were many words. I think if Helen were to take any of the art home with her it would be the painting of the barn to the left in the background.

I like the bird sculptures and you're very nicely framed in that last photo!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to invade fine art sometimes for a selfie!
DeleteSome great work there, thanks for showing us.
ReplyDeleteAnd there's a bit more that I liked on the art blog, link given above.
Delete,,,Barbara, you great framed.
ReplyDeleteIt could become a new meme for photographers...where can you be framed?
DeleteI like the barn too.
ReplyDeleteThere is a poignant lonely feeling to that painting. I don't feel I'd enjoy seeing it in my home...but some like strawberry, some like chocolate!
DeleteI like all of the pieces you showed, but like the swan the best. I'd love to know if the letters have any significance.
ReplyDeleteMe too. We tried to see if there were words, and some looked like words, but didn't make any sense. Perhaps in Swan-talk.
DeleteWonderful art.
ReplyDeleteI agree, and am fortunate that we have an art center which shows beautiful creations regularly!
DeleteYou have so much beautiful art in that area! And I love your banner and that Fall colored tree. You may even see winter weather this week!
ReplyDeleteWonderful exhibit! I especially loved the Libba Tracey bird sculptures on wheels, what a fun and unique idea! The photo of you and your friend framed by the swan sculpture is great, too.
ReplyDeleteYou always find worthy and interesting things to share with us dear. Thank you so much. Aloha
ReplyDeleteWow! Stunning art works ~ especially like the swan ~ thanks, ^_^
