Some winter to consider

From the Way-Back-Machine  - as posted in Living in Black Mountain NC - a blog that I'm no longer keeping current.

Just thought August might enjoy some thoughts of snow!

Winter sometimes provided gorgeous walks for me, 2011
----------

I must have a lot of influence...look at yesterday's temperatures! Not quite snow, but Aug 3 with the high of 66.

I cannot walk through the suburbs in the solitude of the night without thinking that the night pleases us because it suppresses idle details, just as our memory does. -Jorge Luis Borges, writer (1899-1986)

    1. And it's not hot today after all! Strange to have highs in the 60s. But for all the rest of the country (where summer is doing its thing)...enjoy thinking of snow.

  2. Winter used ot be a favourite time to go to the cottage and snowshoe through the woods without bugs to bother us.

    1. Oh that's a great thought...though I think snowshoe-ing would be a bit hard to do.

  3. Great photo you playing in the snow. I like cooler weather but no snow.
Take care, enjoy your day and the week ahead.

    1. With the little bits of snow we've had lately, I somehow crave it. However, too much of it would not be welcome.

    1. I had no difficulty driving with my friend over to check out some of the pretty views of the snow back then. Nobody was plowing either, and it melted within a few hours.

  5. It's hard in summer to remember what winter feels like and vice versa. We're having a storm here - very windy!

    1. We're on day 2 of rain, expected to last all week. So I sure understand the frustration of it. Some flood warnings even.

  8. I never did well in Snow, it's pretty to look at in pictures tho'. We retired in the Desert, but, it's been 119 lately, so, tho' you don't have to shovel Sunshine, it does take some stamina to endure Global Warming effects making a Hot situation even Hotter. Right now the Northern Part of our State is on Fire, a huge uncontained one near the North Rim of the Grand Canyon is so big and so hot it has created it's own Weather Pattern!!!
