Who knew all this would happen afterwards! Flat Creek in November, 2024. Much changed by the force of the hurricane floods in Sept. 2024. The deck of the bridge is now under that pile of debris.

The Rhodies were in bloom!

The Craggy gardens picnic area, as well as the summit overlooking the Blue Ridge Parkway, are supposed to have peak Rhododendrons for Mother's Day each year. I've yet to get there to check it out!
I kind of wonder if there are still any on the Blue Ridge Parkway...a week after Mother's Day. But they're having a Toxic Air Warning over 4000 feet...Ozone. So I don't want to go up there till that clears.
I love the rhododendron blooms, very pretty. Ours are the same color, beautiful. Take care, have a great day and happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks...I admit I only zeroed in on this one bush, as I wasn't feeling well that day. Have a super weekend yourself!
Delete...rhododendron time is great and it has started here too!

DeleteWaiting on ours to see if they bloom the first year planted. Yours are lovely.
ReplyDeleteHope you get some blossoms!

DeleteI love that you are posting these photos. You are my harbinger of blooms to come!
ReplyDeleteAnd they are pretty much gone from our local woods now. Glad you still have yours to look forward to!
DeleteLove seeing your Rhodies in bloom. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks Robin!
DeleteThey're very pretty.
ReplyDeleteThey don't do well in the soil around here, though I did see some in someone's garden on a recent walk.
ReplyDeleteI love them! Had my own once. Perhaps I’ll plant some.
