Who knew all this would happen afterwards! Flat Creek in November, 2024. Much changed by the force of the hurricane floods in Sept. 2024. The deck of the bridge is now under that pile of debris.

Dying of thirst
The poor verbena, aphids keep killing it. Though it's putting up a good effort.
Your plants look pretty. We could use more rain, but we do have to keep watering our plants too. I need to find out how to transplant my orchid, I am waiting till the last flowers fall off. Take care, have a great day!
Hi Barbara, Its just about as dry on this side of the Smoky Mountains as well. We did have about 4-tenths of an inch of rain a day ago...the first in a long time. If we didn't have a sprinkler system, our yard would be pitiful. Of course, I'll have to deal with a significant water bill this month. Take Care, Big Daddy Dave
I am remembering renting and watering my plants and nobody ever said that I'd increased their water bill...pretty lucky. Here the apartments cover water, but we've had several breaks (outside of apartments fortunately!) and right now there's a possible main leaking up through the pavement in the parking lot.
They are looking good despite the drought.
ReplyDeleteWe are having showers all this week, but it won't amount to much. All the rivers started the year low.
I had to go water the little darlings, which is why it's taken me so long to reply to these comments!

Thanks Eileen for your good wishes. Yes, I try to water every other day, and there are thunderstorms nearby, but never here!
Delete...it is so dry here that things are dying of thirst too.
ReplyDeleteI feel for farmers waiting for crops.
DeleteI hope you get some rain there soon.
ReplyDeletetonight there's a high probability, but that's happened before.

DeleteHope you get a good rainfall soon, Barbara. We had one all day on Monday and too bad I couldn't send a bit to NC.
ReplyDeleteIt's too bad we can't share the rain with you, it's pouring out right now.
ReplyDeleteHa ha ha...what a great idea. Who knows, maybe someday there will be a method of keeping droughts and floods in check.
DeleteI water my porch plants at least every other day--every day when it's really hot. The rain was most welcome, and it left cooler air behind. Yay!
ReplyDeleteI hope we get rain tonight. Lots of clouds come by, saying how do you do...
DeleteWe have had a good amount of rain here lately.
ReplyDeleteThat's good to hear. Yay for your area!
DeleteWhere are the ladybugs when you need them?
ReplyDeleteDo they bring rain? I always knew the right ones were welcome in a garden, but not the reason why.
