Last Sunday afternoon my women's group met to celebrate the first harvest or Lammas.
We each brought something to represent our harvest to give away to each other. We had a great little skit performed about Demeter and Persephone...with a humorous twist.
It was so wonderful to sit out under trees with a breeze blowing. Many smiles around the circle. Thanks to our organizing women!
Hello,
ReplyDeleteWhat fun, celebrating the first harvest and meeting up with your friends. Your basket has lots of goodies.
Take care, have a happy day and a great new week ahead.
The group meets on the ancient holy days from the Celtic calendar, or the agricultural calendar. It was lots of fun!
DeleteWhat a lovely way to celebrate.
ReplyDeleteWe had wonderful weather for our little gathering.
Delete...what beautiful and colorful time.
ReplyDeleteYes, a small group of women gathered for celebration.
DeleteLooks like a pleasant and bountiful occasion.
ReplyDeleteI sure have lots of the bounty that I brought home. Hope I can use it all before it goes bad!
DeleteI love that you celebrated Lammas and brought gifts to each other. A lovely way to celebrate.
ReplyDeleteIt was a great little celebration. Now to just eat all the fruits!

ReplyDeleteI was revitalizing!

ReplyDeleteA simple gathering, and lucky weather.
DeleteWhat a nice tradition!
ReplyDeleteI have to admit I read "lamas" at first and was looking for the animals--lol! There is a ranch that raises lamas on the way to my son's home and I always want to stop and pet them as they look so cute.
I used that term, because I can't spell the older name of the Celtic holiday, Lughnesdagh, or something like that!
