The toes knows

This little piggy went to market, this little piggy stayed home...

Every time I see my naked toes, I start saying that nursery rhyme. I went to the podiatrist's to check on the health of my toes. I'd never even had a pedicure. It wasn't quite the same, as no soaking nor massage was included. I had to massage my own feet...when I got home. But my nails are happily trimmed, not the photo above which is the "before" shot. I'm waiting to find out the results of test on the left foot's big toe which may have a fungus among us.

And in the waiting room was an Easter Tree. It was already 2 weeks past Easter, so I'm wondering what the next decorations might be. Memorial Day? Nah. May Day isn't likely either, living in this Bible Belt town, even though some friends will dance a May Pole in a nearby park in a few weeks. Sorry I don't have a return appointment to find out what they do with the tree the rest of the year!

Outside the medical building were the faces of these lovely little pansies.

The building at the top of my hill has some nice iris blooming.

Today I'm going to check with the pulmonologist's team as to next treatments after being home from hospital for 2-1/2 weeks. Tomorrow I see the Infectious Disease team. There was a late test result which may still need treatment. I'll hope (fingers and toes crossed) I don't need more antibiotics.

When we feel safe, our creativity unfolds like a beautiful flower.

  1. If anyone is doing it near you, go for some Reflexology... They work just on your feet and ankles.... But the whole body benefits

    1. The only trouble is the medical treatments are covered by health insurance, while holistic/alternative treatments are full cost here. I have learned aa bit in workshops about Reflexology, and love it!

    2. yes, when I was covered by Pirate's health insurance to get 50% off, it covered some complementary therapies but not others.

  5. Since I'm a diabetic and foot care is critical, I get my footcare professionally done every two months by a licensed nurse. I can't afford to have any nicks, cuts, fissures or any little injuries to my toes or soles.

    1. You are smart to take care of your toes etc. A dear man who is diabetic lives here in our senior apartments, rides an electric wheelchair to walk his little dog...and has had to lose both feet. So sad.

  7. You absolutely DO have nice straight toes. Mine are looking like my fingers which is to say, crooked and big-knuckled. But I am grateful for these feet which have carried me so many miles.

    1. I guess I raised my toes a bit for the photo. They sure were cramped into pointed toed heels for many many years! Me too, very grateful they are still working!

  8. You have beautiful feet, such straight toes. The flowers are beautiful too. Iris were my mum's favourites.

    1. Maybe years of wearing sandals when not in those pointed toe things helped my feet figure out they liked to be wide and free to wiggle! Plus I have tiny little toes compared to most people. I'm always amazed that iris are treated so commonly, since they are so intricate. I've never attempted to draw or paint those petals!
