Update about blogCa

View from my tiny balcony, April 11, 2026. The steep slope my apartment building sits on reminds me that this is an ancient river valley, and perhaps where I sit once was the bank of a bigger Swannanoa River than the one of today.

Pocket balcony is great for springtime fresh air. Until the pollen from my lovely maples gets too strong!

Have you noticed how many photos from space include the Straits of Hormuz?

    1. Thanks! I keep odd socks in hopes their mates will see the light and return. The foolish optimist !

  3. That gorgeous ladyslipper is stunning! I saw a wild ladyslipper once, nearly 60 years ago now. It was yellow and so perfect.

    1. I also remember rare flower sightings from many years ago. Dutchman’s breeches is one.

  4. Is your little pocket porch screened or the picture through the screened window? On second thought, judging by the leaves in the corner it's the window that is screened.

  5. I think it's wonderful that you have a spot, albeit tiny, to sit outside attached to your own apartment.

  6. Hello Barb,
Are you moving soon? Love the earth/moon photo. The Lady slipper flower is lovely.
    Take care, enjoy your day!
