Wishes for a good month ahead!

Each morning, find a way to start your day right as it sets the tone for your day.

Had coffee with two friends the other afternoon. The little seats and tables are snug next to other people, and a man with his laptop sat pretty close next to us. It wasn't until I said I said I was thinking of donating to Cooper for Senator that he said nice and loud that he had already. We all laughed, especially as I'd been sharing lots of personal information with my friends, and now we knew he'd heard it all! He was diplomatic and said he'd not paid much attention till then.

In case you don't know, getting former NC Governor Roy Cooper elected to the Senate will hopefully help tilt Congress to the blue side. It's a pretty long shot in our red state...but these days we all are betting on lots of long shots.

Including the guy at the next table.

    1. So glad we drove up on the Parkway last Sunday again, as they just posted that there will be some big trucks and other equipment (including many dump trucks) going all the way to Mt. Mitchell doing repairs in that park. It hasn't been open, but the road up to it did open last year. We had to use their porto-potties as no plumbing was yet available.

    1. Aren't they? I don't think they're opening yet on the Parkway this year...and I usually just see white ones.

  3. You and Vicki always remember.
Your variety of trilliums is very pretty. Unfortunately, I only seem to find white ones locally although reds can certainly exist here.

    1. There is always that thought...a new beginning of some kind, though the calendar, and indeed our clocks are artificial time measures. On the other hand, they keep the trains and planes on time somewhat.

  5. If your state elected Cooper for governor I'd think he'd win for Senator too.
The photo of the wrapped bodies - casualties from the bombing of the girls school I presume - had the same photo on two different bodies. Identical twins? or a mistake?

  6. Love that last quote. Excellent.
Your coffee shop story reminds me of something that happened yesterday to me in the grocery store. I rounded an aisle, and two women were definitely talking about the need for lists they both had and I waved the list I had clutched in my own hand in the air and said, "Me too!" We all laughed.
I love to eavesdrop, by the way.

  7. I have never seen pink trillium. They have always been dark red. Thanks for sharing that photo and the others.

    1. I love the dark red trillium. Rare to find them around here, I think.

    1. I think my voice has become louder, perhaps because several friends are hard of hearing. But I need to watch what I say often in public settings. We had started talking about how someone’s plumber said he knew who could fix the toilet better. Who? Jesus. My friend’s response was “He’s probably pretty busy though.” We did laugh, but were whispering so as not to offend. After all this is the south!

  9. Good luck to Mr Cooper. Always good to find like-minded people in the wild, lol.

    1. It’s the first day of Passover, and for once I don’t have any friendly Jewish people to invite me to Seder dinner. There are some delicious foods there which I love. Speaking of like minded people.

  10. Very hopeful for Cooper. And hoping for a blue wave to wipe out the orange stain on our country.
