Some more blossoms around my apartment. Happy EARTH DAY!
As of Thursday, April 16 we still had some azaleas blooming.
I climbed down two flights of stairs to capture a few photos of the lilies of the valley.
Behind the big maple tree is where my balcony sits, over the entrance to the downstairs apartment.
White azaleas are past their prime.
The lilies are as well. But what a huge patch of them! This is the biggest I've seen it.
Another native flame azalea, also butchered by the eager landscape crew in trying to make everything look tidy.

Oh, those vibrant pink azaleas! And that quilt is AMAZING work. It looks just like a watercolour painting.

ReplyDeleteYes, and I didn't mention the great stop and go of returning back up! I'm always awestruck by artist/crafts-people who quilt so beautifully.
DeleteLate spring, eh? We are still in the shoulder intervals between winter and spring. Today, our shoulders are feeling very cold.
ReplyDeleteWe may have had frosts nearby, but it doesn't look like it hit us last night...just in the upper 30s F.
DeleteI would be enraged at the cutting of that flame azalea in its prime flowering period.

Oh the pruning occurred long ago, but many of our pretty azaleas are dying because they were too severe in their cutting. It's sad.
