Wordless Wednesday

Off the beaten path...

The Swannanoa River in Black Mountain NC

Every day is Earth Day!

Our tourists come from everywhere... (look closely!)

And perhaps in every size!

Magic at the beach in the Outer Banks (from the internet)

Today's goddess:

Baba Yaga. By Rima Staines

Silence can make us nervous thinking we need to fill the void, but there is immense strength in silence.

    1. The Outer Banks image is from a FB site, and I love it. Not quite enough to drive all day to get to see it (maybe). Perhaps when summer comes.

    1. There's actually a FB page of Outer Banks photos every day or so.

    1. She's not exactly that kind of goddess. More like fairy tale stuff. Folk tales.

  4. We camped on the Outer Banks a couple of times, beautiful place. And there's the Wright Brothers location, too. Pro tip: you need special sand stakes for your tent! We were glad we'd been forewarned when we saw other people's tents bowling merrily away down the miles of beach.

    1. Oh my, I've had to tie a tent down to the picnic table (concrete) when I was camping at Galveston beach. There was a hurricane that came through nearby, but the worst was the wind that made everything snap all night, so we ended up sleeping in the car.

  5. Grateful for the posting of Baba Yaga by a favorite artistt, Rima Staines, whom I had forgotten about! Do go to her instagram page, her art is magnificent and speaks to a deeper well of life! One remembered in our spirits and bones , obscured by present everyday living and men telling us to smile...

    1. Thanks - I added Rima Staines name to give her credit for that wonderful painting of Baba Yaga. I'm also laughing out loud at the comment about men telling us to smile. My mother used to do the same for picture taking time, but then would stick out her tongue whenever the camera pointed at her. She was feisty. Maybe a bit of Baba Yaga there!
