Update about blogCa

I-40 picked up the old Rte. 66 somewhere along the way, maybe Little Rock, maybe Oklahoma City. But it is the 100th anniversary of Rte 66 so I enjoyed thinking about my parents driving on part Of it in. St. Louis at least. Here we continued from Santa Rosita to Gallup NM, then left both highways to go north to CO.

Getting to Grandfather Mountain

Yes, this is the one I chose as my header last week. Mmm, may change it soon.

That beautiful cloud did come our way, making some of our photos on the viaduct less beautiful with grey skies. But first we had another couple of miles getting to it.

I admit I tried different angles to capture that rock, or that tree...and the cloud just kept on coming down!

Today's quote:

Sholem Aleichem said, “Life is a dream for the wise, a game for the fool, a comedy for the rich, a tragedy for the poor.”

Sholem Aleichem,  “No matter how bad things get, you got to go on living, even if it kills you.”

  3. Beautiful scenery. Mountains always look rather more grand with some cloud, but not too much, sitting on top. But how did it get such a name?

  4. There was a lot of green in the first photos, but then there was more colour.
